How to Configure Windows Firewall

 

For best results Windows firewall must be configured to allow Logic Server to communicate with Slideshow Remote.

If the firewall is not properly configured you could encounter the following problems:

Add Logic Server to allowed programs

  1. Open Start menu
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Open Security Center.
  4. Click Windows Firewall.
  5. Click Exceptions tab.
  6. Find Logic Server in the list.
  7. Verify if it's the latest version number.
  8. If the latest Logic Server is not in the list, click Add Program and browse to Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe)
  9. Important: Activate the check box before Logic Server in the list.

Allow Logic Server TCP port

  1. Note the TCP port used in Logic Server settings (default is 8080).
  2. Open Start menu.
  3. Open Control Panel.
  4. Open Security Center.
  5. Click Windows Firewall.
  6. Click Exceptions tab.
  7. Click Add Port.
  8. Type the name "HTTP", enter Logic Server port number and select TCP.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Important: Activate the check box before HTTP in the list.

Allow Bonjour UDP port 5353

  1. Open Start menu.
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Open Security Center.
  4. Click Windows Firewall.
  5. Click Exceptions tab.
  6. Click Add Port.
  7. Type the name "MDNS", enter port number 5353 and select UDP.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Important: Activate the check box before MDNS in the list.

Windows Security Alert

If a Windows Security Alert appears at Logic Server startup click "Unblock".
