For best results Norton firewall must be configured to allow Logic Server to communicate with Slideshow Remote.
If the firewall is not properly configured you could encounter the following problems:
- Your device doesn't appear in the Devices List
- Automatic and manual connection modes fail
- Error "Unable to connect to Logic Server"
- Send error 10054
- Connect error 10061
Select your version of Norton and follow these steps:
Norton 360 All-in-One Security
- Open Norton 360.
- Click Task & Settings in the main menu.
- Click Advanced Settings.
- Click Firewall Protection Settings.
- Click Firewall Program Rules tab.
- Select Logic Server in the list.
- Select Allow (not Auto or Custom) in the Access column beside Logic Server.
- Click Apply.
Norton Internet Security 2009 or 2010
- Open Norton Internet Security.
- click Settings under Internet or Web.
- Scroll to the Smart Firewall section.
- Click Configure Program Control.
- Find Logic Server in the list.
- Verify if it's the latest version.
- If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse o Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
- Select "Allow" (not Custom or Block) in the Access column.
- Click OK.
Norton Internet Security 2008
- Open Norton Internet Security.
- Click Norton Internet Security tab.
- Click the Settings down arrow.
- Open Web Browsing.
- Click Personal Firewall.
- Click Configure.
- Click Program Control.
- Find Logic Server in the list.
- Verify if it's the latest version.
- If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse o Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
- Select "Allow" (not Custom).
Norton Internet Security 2007
- Start Norton Internet Security.
- Click Norton Internet Security tab.
- Click Settings.
- Click Personal Firewall under Web Browsing.
- Click Configure.
- Click Program Control.
- Find Logic Server in the list.
- Verify if it's the latest version.
- If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse to Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
- Select "Allow" (not Custom).
- Click OK.
Norton Personal Firewall
- Open Norton Personal Firewall.
- Click Status & Security or Options.
- Select Personal Firewall.
- Click Configure.
- Select Programs tab.
- Find Logic Server in the list.
- Verify if it's the latest version.
- If not present click Add and browse to Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
- Select "Permit" or "Permit All" (not Block or Block All).
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
