How to Configure Norton Firewall

For best results Norton firewall must be configured to allow Logic Server to communicate with Slideshow Remote.

If the firewall is not properly configured you could encounter the following problems:

• Your device doesn't appear in the Devices List
• Automatic and manual connection modes fail
• Error "Unable to connect to Logic Server"
• Send error 10054
• Connect error 10061

Select your version of Norton and follow these steps:

Norton 360 All-in-One Security

1. Open Norton 360.
2. Click Task & Settings in the main menu.
3. Click Advanced Settings.
4. Click Firewall Protection Settings.
5. Click Firewall Program Rules tab.
6. Select Logic Server in the list.
7. Select Allow (not Auto or Custom) in the Access column beside Logic Server.
8. Click Apply.

Norton Internet Security 2009 or 2010

1. Open Norton Internet Security.
2. click Settings under Internet or Web.
3. Scroll to the Smart Firewall section.
4. Click Configure Program Control.
5. Find Logic Server in the list.
6. Verify if it's the latest version.
7. If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse o Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
8. Select "Allow" (not Custom or Block) in the Access column.
9. Click OK.

Norton Internet Security 2008

1. Open Norton Internet Security.
2. Click Norton Internet Security tab.
3. Click the Settings down arrow.
4. Open Web Browsing.
5. Click Personal Firewall.
6. Click Configure.
7. Click Program Control.
8. Find Logic Server in the list.
9. Verify if it's the latest version.
10. If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse o Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
11. Select "Allow" (not Custom).

Norton Internet Security 2007

1. Start Norton Internet Security.
2. Click Norton Internet Security tab.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click Personal Firewall under Web Browsing.
5. Click Configure.
6. Click Program Control.
7. Find Logic Server in the list.
8. Verify if it's the latest version.
9. If not present click Add, enter the name Logic Server and browse to Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
10. Select "Allow" (not Custom).
11. Click OK.

Norton Personal Firewall

1. Open Norton Personal Firewall.
2. Click Status & Security or Options.
3. Select Personal Firewall.
4. Click Configure.
5. Select Programs tab.
6. Find Logic Server in the list.
7. Verify if it's the latest version.
8. If not present click Add and browse to Logic Server (by default c:\Program Files\LogicInMind\Logic Server\LogicServer.exe).
9. Select "Permit" or "Permit All" (not Block or Block All).
10. Click Next.
11. Click Finish.
